Making a Difference

When you seek the perfect gift for that special person, remember the “Making A Difference” program through the Warren Arts & Education Foundation. You may wish to honor your child’s teacher, principal, support staff, volunteer or neighbor. Also, you may wish to honor a former teacher or staff member. You can even make a donation for no special reason.

What WAEF Is All About

The Warren Arts & Education Foundation was reorganized and expanded in 1992 from the previous Warren Fine Arts Foundation established in 1985.

During the past seventeen years, the Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 in grants to faculty and schools for educational projects not covered by the traditional school budget. Special projects and academic programs have benefited many students. Residency grants help schools bring outside professionals such as authors, ceramists, musicians or scientists into the schools to work with students.

Education License Plates

When Warren Arts and Education Foundation is designated as the recipient, each education license specialty plate sold provides $18.75 to the foundation. To see an example of a form that will be required to be used to support this effort, please click on the link below.

Retirement Dinner

The annual Employee Retirement Dinner is hosted by the Foundation each spring to recognize retirees with 10 or more years service in MSD Warren Township schools. The 2010 event will be May 5 at the Community Life Center.

Fine Arts Medallions & Certificates

Fine arts medallions and certificates are presented annually to approximately 75 students in grades 5, 8 and 12. Seven areas of the arts are recognized – art, band, dance, drama, orchestra, technical theater and vocal music. Winners receive an engraved neck medallion during one of three Spring Fine Arts Festivals in the Warren Performing Arts Center. The certificates of achievement are awarded to the students during their individual school honors program.
